Galatasaray are pursuing Manchester City attacker Omar Marmoush, reopening talks on a loan-led move as they reshape their attack.
Fotomaç reports that the defending Trendyol Süper Lig champions have made the Egypt international central to their rebuild after a winter enquiry fell short. Head coach Okan Buruk is prioritising dynamic frontline reinforcements to potentially fill the void left by Mauro Icardi.
The plan is a season-long loan to limit upfront spend, with a non-mandatory purchase option included. Galatasaray are also prepared to offer a substantial salary package to bridge the player’s current wages.
Competition is expected from Tottenham Hotspur, led by Roberto De Zerbi, who are said to be preparing a bid. City have set a baseline fee near €60 million (£51 million) for a permanent deal, complicating a straightforward loan.
Galatasaray also intend to lean on İlkay Gündoğan, who shared the pitch with Marmoush at the Etihad, to help pitch the project and encourage a move to Türkiye. Marmoush is on World Cup duty in North America, having played 105 minutes in Egypt’s shootout win over Australia in the Round of 32, and is expected to hold decisive talks over his domestic future after the tournament.
