Alejandro Garnacho wants a Premier League transfer this summer as the winger prepares to leave Manchester United.
Garnacho has been informed he does not feature in Ruben Amorim’s plans for the upcoming season and is currently assessing his options.
Napoli expressed interest in the Argentine in January, while Bayer Leverkusen have been named as an option following the appointment of ex-Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag in Germany.
However, despite Leverkusen’s interest, Garnacho is giving priority to remaining in English football.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed the 20-year-old is keen to explore options in England and remain in the Premier League.
Chelsea made enquiries for Garnacho in the January transfer window and remain on the hunt for a left-sided forward. The Blues did not take up the option to sign Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho permanently, while Mykhailo Mudryk remains provisionally suspended. Aston Villa and Arsenal have also been tentatively linked with Garnacho.
Garnacho scored 11 times in all competitions for Manchester United last season and added nine assists.
Manchester United value Garnacho at around £50m, with the player’s sale designed to free funds for the club’s rebuild. Given Garnacho’s progress from the academy, his sale would count as complete profit in Premier League Profit and Sustainability calculations.
The Red Devils have already bolstered their attacking options with the arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolves and remain in talks with Brentford over a deal to sign Bryan Mbeumo. United have also contacted Eintracht Frankfurt to discuss the cost of signing Hugo Ekitike from the Bundesliga side.
