Gasperini wants Dybala to stay, renewal still possible

Paulo Dybala, after 105 days, is back in the starting lineup, and he did it in his own unique way: assists for Malen and quality touches when he had the ball at his feet.

La Joya isn’t yet 100% fit, but he’s still making an impact.

His footballing connection with the Dutch striker is clear for all to see.

The next two games, however, could be the Argentine star’s last in the Giallorossi jersey.

The Roma number 21’s contract expires on June 30th, and as stated yesterday after the 2-3 victory at the Tardini against Parma, there has been no contact with the club regarding a possible extension. The club’s silence is also causing controversy in this case.

Dybala would happily stay at Roma, but the club will have to make the first move. So far, no one has contacted the Argentine to discuss the prospect of a potential extension at a lower price.

As Il Tempo reports, “La Joya” has so far received an offer from Boca Juniors that doesn’t exceed €500,000.

A renewal with Roma is not yet out of the question for two reasons: the Argentine’s desire to stay and Gasperini’s desire to continue investing in him.

The Grugliasco-born coach has no intention of losing the quality of the number 21 ahead of next season.

Dybala is waiting for a call from the club, aware that a potential renewal would be significantly lower than the current figure (€8.5 million plus bonuses).
