Gasperini wants Paixao at Roma after Atalanta interest | OneFootball

Gian Piero Gasperini had already targeted Igor Paixao for Atalanta, so the Feyenoord winger will also be on his wish list for Roma, but there’s no lack of competition.

The impressive talent turns 25 later this month and made his mark this season with 18 goals and 19 assists in 47 competitive appearances.

He was particularly effective in the Champions League, netting two and assisting five goals, including the winner against Milan in the play-off in February.

Paixao impressed with Feyenoord

Gasperini is an admirer and had already put Paixao on the list of targets when he was still in charge of Atalanta.

It is therefore not surprising that the coach would suggest the same name now that he has moved on to Roma.

Signed from Coritiba for €4.5m in 2022, the Brazilian is expected to leave Feyenoord this summer for an asking price of €30-35m.

There is no shortage of interest, even within Serie A from Scudetto winners Napoli, but also from other top European leagues.
