The equation is clear: Joshua Zirkzee enjoyed his best Italian season with Bologna.
Perhaps for this reason, writes La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Dutch striker is once again looking to Serie A at a difficult time in his career.
Zirkzee is currently finding little playing time at Manchester United, and several clubs, not just in the Premier League, have begun to closely monitor him ahead of January.
Gasperini’s Roma are in pole position, intent on strengthening their attack.
But watch out for Como, an outsider who, despite not competing in European competition, has greater financial resources than the Giallorossi.
Zirkzee, moreover, fears losing his Netherlands squad for the World Cup, and is therefore aiming to leave Manchester in the winter transfer window.
Roma are watching with great interest: Dovbyk hasn’t yet fully convinced (he was close to being sold in the summer), while new signing Bailey has yet to make his debut due to injury.
The Giallorossi could only attempt to acquire the player on loan, given the need to comply with the constraints imposed by Financial Fair Play.
