Gattuso ‘to target’ AC Milan’s Santiago Gimenez for Lazio | OneFootball

Il Messaggero reports that Gennaro Gattuso regards AC Milan striker Santiago Gimenez as his ideal centre-forward and is keen for Lazio to pursue him. The head coach is said to view the Mexican as a dream fit to lead the line.

Lazio’s attack badly misfired last season, returning 41 goals in 38 Serie A rounds, with no player reaching five. Gattuso recognises reinforcements are essential at Formello.

The club have explored options at centre-forward, including Fiorentina’s Roberto Piccoli, Sassuolo’s Andrea Pinamonti and Fluminense’s John Kennedy, yet no deal has been closed.

Gimenez, a Cruz Azul academy graduate, hit 65 goals in 105 games for Feyenoord. He joined Milan in February 2025 for €three million, then produced seven goals and six assists across his first 18 months at San Siro.

Any move from Lazio could only be an initial loan this summer, with a permanent transfer ruled out. Milan might consider an exit after signing Goncalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain, though it is unclear if a temporary arrangement would be accepted. Gimenez is under contract at San Siro until June 2029.
