Gerard Moreno back training alone, Barcelona appearance unlikely | OneFootball

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Villarreal trained on Wednesday at the José Manuel Llaneza complex, where Gerard Moreno worked alone as he continues recovery from a left hamstring injury. He has not played since 31 January in Pamplona, when he scored twice. A Barcelona appearance looks unlikely unless there is a late twist.

Moreno undertook high tempo running on his own. He also did ball work in control, passing and dribbling drills with a member of the medical staff.

Given his recent record, caution remains paramount. The striker will dictate the timing of his return, and he must feel 100 per cent before competing again.

There is no set date for his comeback. If recovery progresses well, a return against Elche at La Cerámica would appear the most logical scenario.

Meanwhile, Pape Gueye trained as normal with the group. He impressed against Valencia but was taken off in the second half after a heavy blow, and he will be available on Saturday at Camp Nou.
