Getafe get sights on January move for Real Madrid first team player

Real Madrid are unlikely to do much business when the winter transfer window opens for business in January, at least in terms of signings. However, there could be a departure or two on the cards, especially considering that Xabi Alonso has barely given minutes to some players in his squad.

One of those to fall into this category is Gonzalo Garcia. The 21-year-old burst on the scene during the Club World Cup, where he scored four goals in six appearances. But since the start of the new season, he has struggled to see much action, given that Kylian Mbappe has played the vast majority of minutes.

Gonzalo also has to compete with Endrick for limited minutes, and the latter will certainly not leave in January. As such, he is a candidate, and according to Roberto Gómez (via Radio Marca), Getafe want to bring the young striker to the Coliseum.

“Getafe will ask for him again. Xabi Alonso doesn’t give him a ball, he plays very little. Ángel Torres will ask for it again.”

Getafe already wanted Gonzalo in the summer, but in the end, Real Madrid decide to keep him – and Gomez has revealed that a similar situation will happen in January.

“I don’t think he’s going to leave. What the player’s entourage wants is to defend his interests, but I think he should leave… but Real Madrid are not going to let him leave.”

Gonzalo needs minutes to continue promising development

Gonzalo has shown sights on being a top talent, but without regular minutes, he risks falling into oblivion at Real Madrid. A loan move, especially to another La Liga club, would do him good, but there is also basis behind the club’s stance of seeking to keep him, given that he, Mbappe and Endrick are Alonso’s only striker options.
