Gianluca Prestianni started in Benfica’s defeat to Juventus but triggered concern after feeling discomfort during the second half.
Record writes that the winger was withdrawn in the 77th minute at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, replaced by João Rego due to physical issues.
Minutes earlier he had briefly stopped on the pitch and signalled that he was unable to continue, prompting unease on the Benfica bench.
The nature of the problem is not yet known. José Mourinho is understood to hope it is nothing serious, with Benfica already stretched and their wide options particularly affected by injuries.
Prestianni is on River Plate’s radar. This season he has made 24 competitive appearances for Benfica, 14 in the Liga Portugal Betclic, five in the Champions League, two in the Taça de Portugal, two in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça. Across 976 minutes he has scored two goals and recorded one assist, and is valued at 12 million euros.
