Manchester City have just one representative in the latest edition of the FIFPro Men’s World 11, it has been confirmed.

The recognition goes to Gianluigi Donnarumma, who earns his place among the world’s best players following an outstanding campaign across both domestic and European football, including a UEFA Champions League success.

While the Italian shot-stopper only joined Manchester City at the beginning of September, his achievements during a historic season with Paris Saint-Germain continue to draw global praise.

The goalkeeper has quickly become a key figure in Pep Guardiola’s latest squad too, offering all of a commanding presence, elite shot-stopping, and a seamless adaptation to English football considering its physical differences.

This year’s World 11 covers performances between mid-July 2024 and early August 2025, meaning Gianluigi Donnarumma’s exceptional campaign with the reigning French champions was central to his inclusion.

The 26-year-old was pivotal in guiding the French club to their 13th Ligue 1 title, and most notably, to a maiden UEFA Champions League crown, while his performances against Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal in the knockout stages stood out, as well as a clean sheet in a 5–0 final victory over Inter.

Now, as confirmed by FIFPro this week, Gianluigi Donnarumma became Manchester City’s only representative in the Men’s World 11 for 2025.

Confirmation of the line-up also saw Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and former Etihad Stadium star Kevin De Bruyne snubbed from the final selection despite their nominations on the initial shortlist.
