Givairo Read pact denial as Forest’s third bid rejected | OneFootball

Nottingham Forest have reportedly seen a third bid for Givairo Read rejected as they push to sign the 20-year-old Feyenoord full-back and bolster Oliver Glasner’s defence.

The latest offer was 22 million euros and was turned down by the Eredivisie club. Former director Dennis te Kloese has denied promising Read he could leave for 25 million euros. “During my time at Feyenoord, I did not make a price agreement with anyone,” he told De Telegraaf. “Besides, there are no fixed buyout clauses in contracts at Feyenoord at all.”

“Last year, before the winter break, I was actively working on a transfer of Read to Bayern Munich. Then even more clubs came into the picture. They were all roughly around that price level of 25 million euros, and even slightly higher.”

“We found that interesting at the time as well, for a young lad who had come in from FC Volendam for free and had developed so well into a very valuable player. The plan last winter was to finalise a transfer, let Givairo play at Feyenoord for another six months, and have him make the move in the summer. But what happened then was that Givairo got injured twice. That threw a spanner in the works.”
