Gladbach sporting director Rouven Schröder says Rocco Reitz is very unlikely to stay next year. RB Leipzig are pursuing the captain.
Sky Germany reports that Leipzig have agreed personal terms with Reitz, although the transfer is not yet complete. The clubs are still seeking an agreement.
Speaking on Thursday, Schröder confirmed firm interest from one club and said talks there were much more concrete, with the side keen to take him next year. He added the chances of Reitz remaining are “very, very slim”.
Schröder stressed Reitz’s importance to Gladbach and said both clubs have their own interests. He noted Gladbach must also plan for the new season and future, calling Reitz their most valuable player.
Leipzig are unwilling to meet a €25-28 million release clause, and it has been suggested a compromise fee could be around €20 million. Schröder expects clarity soon and said the matter should not drag on for weeks.
