Glasgow brace keeps Trinidad and Tobago in Group A hunt at U-17 Qualifiers

MIAMI – The 2026 Concacaf U-17 Qualifiers continued with two matches taking place in Group A on Monday.
Mexico leads the group with nine points, while Trinidad and Tobago improved to six points to follow in second. The two nations will meet with first place on the line on Thursday in the groups final matchday.
Sint Maarten 0-8 Trinidad and Tobago
Trinidad and Tobago earned an 8-nil win over Sint Maarten in Group A at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
The hosts took the lead in the 13’, when J’Meke Watkins took advantage of a loose ball to find the back of the net.
Christian Pitt doubled the lead in the 41’ with a shot from close range.
Kanye Glasgow continued the offense in the second half with a right-footed strike in the 52’. Donovan Drayton added a fourth for the Soca Warriors in the 55’.
Glasgow struck again in the 66’, followed by Adasa Richardson in the 80’, and Finn De Freitas in the 83’.
Jeremai Nanton added his name to the scoresheet in the 90’+1’ to put a bow on the victory.
Barbados 1-4 Mexico
Mexico earned a 4-1 victory over Barbados in Group A at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
El Tricolor jumped ahead with three goals in the opening ten minutes of the match. Uziel Vargas got on the board in the 3’, as he knocked in a ball from the middle of the box.
Three minutes later, it was Noé Mota who finished off a cross in the 6’ to extend the lead.
Soon after Adán Sanchez pounced on a rebound and blasted it home to put Mexico in command in the 7’.
Aruba’s tally game off an own goal by Mexico’s goalkeeper Marcelo Ávalos in the 47’.
Luis Trujillo put a stamp on the win with a laser from distance in the 67’, placing Mexico one step closer to qualifying for the U-17 World Cup.
