Brighton & Hove Albion moved into the Premier League’s top half with a convincing 3-0 win over Leeds United at the Amex Stadium.
The hosts struck in the 11th minute after Yankuba Minteh released Mats Wieffer, whose cross was converted by Welbeck from close range, marking his sixth goal of the season.
Brighton dominated the opening period, creating further chances through Welbeck and Minteh, while Leeds struggled to threaten goalkeeper Lucas Perri.
Gomez doubled Brighton’s lead in the 64th minute from a deflected Minteh cross and added a second six minutes later, finishing a cutback from Georginio Rutter.
Leeds offered little in response, with only late opportunities for Lukas Nmecha and Anton Stach.
The defeat leaves Daniel Farke’s side 16th, five points above the relegation zone, while Brighton climb to eighth.
