Great news, Liverpool's perfect winger is now waiting to be signed

Liverpool's ideal signing is now waiting to be signed. Stop wasting time and sign him!

Signing a winger is now a top priority for Liverpool. In fact, they can't really afford not to sign one this summer, even after picking up Victor Munoz.

The squad lacked production from wide areas all season and Mohamed Salah's exit only exacerbates the problem. The big issue, however, is that the market on that flank is absolutely rotten.

Liverpool though they'd get Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig but the Ivorian said no, preferring Paris Saint-Germain. It essentially leaves the club with zero good options and they'll now need to take some sort of risk.

Maybe that's on a player operating in the bracket below the elite, who can potentially get there. Or maybe it's signing someone you know never will - but can buy Liverpool a year to find the 'right' player.

Or, maybe, Liverpool should go after one of the best young talents going. Namely, Ibrahim Mbaye.

Footmercato is one outlet saying that Mbaye wants out of Paris Saint-Germain, and that does make sense. The teenager is right on the cusp of regular first-team football but PSG are in talks to sign two wingers on the right, namely Diomande and Maghnes Akliouche.

It means the teenager isn't assured of regular football. Liverpool, however, are well-placed to give him that.

Precisely two wingers across Europe's top five leagues were born in 2008 and played at least 500 minutes last season. One was Mbaye, the other was Rio Ngumoha.

They just happen to operate on different flanks, too, making this one feel a little too good to be true. Now, could Liverpool really bank on two 18-year-old wingers heading out of this transfer window?

Yes, we think so. These are two elite talents, who could actually take the pressure off of one another by being threats on opposite flanks. Combine them with genuinely world-class talents in Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak and suddenly you've got two teenage talents with the perfect environment in which to develop.

Opportunities like this don't come along often, and we wouldn't even suggest it if the market were better. But right now? The most exciting move Liverpool could make - the one with the highest upside by far - is to sign Mbaye.

We're praying they think the same.
