Andrée Jeglertz confirmed captain Alex Greenwood was back in training ahead of Friday’s WSL home opener against Brighton, but that the fixture might come too soon for Grace Clinton.
Greenwood was replaced late in our 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, appearing to hold her leg.
But the boss confirmed that the England defender was back in training as we prepare to face Brighton this weekend.
Elsewhere, Jeglertz was highly doubtful that Friday's clash would see deadline day signing Clinton make her City debut, but didn't rule it out entirely.
"Alex [Greenwood] is back in training again," our Head Coach confirmed.
"[Grace] She’s progressing slowly, but isn't ready yet. We don’t think [she will play]."
The boss also added that a consultant review of Lily Murphy's condition was expected in the coming days.
Our young winger was forced off deep into stoppage time at Stamford Bridge after sustaining a shoulder injury.
Speaking on her condition, Jeglertz said: "Lily, we are still waiting for the final review from the consultants.
"I think it’s too early to say [when Lily will return]. They are looking to get the review and we just need to wait until that is done."
There was positive news on Rebecca Knaak, Kerolin and Aoba Fujino, though, who Jeglertz revealed were all 'progressing quickly' in their respective recoveries.
For Kerolin and Fujino in particular, our Head Coach hinted they could be included in some capacity against the Seagulls.
"They are progressing quickly, all three of them," he said.
"We will see if they are ready this weekend, but slowly they are getting there.
"Especially Kerolin and Fujino are not thar far away."
