Grêmio confirm Pavon injury, out for two to three weeks | OneFootball

Grêmio said in a medical bulletin that Pavon has sustained a right knee ligament injury and is expected to miss the rest of January, with an estimated absence of two to three weeks. The Argentine is undergoing physiotherapy.

Pavon featured in the Tricolor’s season opener, playing 34 minutes in the 4-0 win over Avenida.

Without him, Luís Castro’s attacking options include Aravena, Gabriel Mec, Roger, André Henrique, Amuzu, Willian and Carlos Vinicius. Latest signings Tetê and Enamorado must still be registered in the CBF’s Boletim Informativo Diário.

Braithwaite is recovering from an Achilles tendon injury in his left foot and is expected to return in early March, the period pencilled in for the Gauchão decider.

Grêmio aim for a second successive state victory on Wednesday night against São José at the Arena at 21:30. The fixture will be played behind closed doors in compliance with a sanction for incidents in Gre-Nal 447.
