According to Gremistas.net, Grêmio’s pre-season has accelerated their overhaul and, alongside several recent exits, the club has pushed on with attacking signings, with forwards Tetê and José Enamorado close to an official announcement.
After those arrivals, the club will all but end its hunt for more attackers. Internally, unless a key forward is sold, Luis Castro is considered to have enough options.
Attention has shifted to goalkeeper and a holding midfielder. Bento, 26, of Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, is viewed as the ideal goalkeeping target, although competition from European clubs means a deal is unlikely to advance.
For midfield, the brief is a number 5, a player integral to initiating build-up play. This is regarded as the most urgent need.
In the current squad, Cuellar and Noriega can operate there, but the Colombian endured a poor 2025 and the Peruvian featured more often at centre-back last season.
Efforts to recruit a right-back and a playmaker continue, though with reduced emphasis.
