Grêmio have set Raphael Veiga of Palmeiras as a priority target and intend to make an official approach, though they view a positive outcome as very difficult. Any deal would require significant investment.

According to Gremistas.net, the club are shaping the squad to Luis Castro's demands and see the domestic market as the route to strengthen the first team.

Palmeiras' preference is to keep Veiga. Despite a dip in 2025 caused by injuries, he remains one of Abel Ferreira's most experienced players amid a gradual rebuild.

Grêmio plan to tempt him with a promise of prominence and a guaranteed starting role. They also hope right-back Marcos Rocha can help persuade him to leave Palmeiras.

The player and his representatives would prioritise Europe if he were to move, though options there are limited given his age.

Despite a delicate financial position, Grêmio intend to make targeted signings at the start of 2026. Alongside an attacking midfielder, they want a goalkeeper, a right-back, a holding midfielder and a winger.

Another Palmeiras player on their list is goalkeeper Weverton. An agreement is seen as more feasible in his case, even though Palmeiras would like to keep the 37-year-old.
