Guido a leader at Valencia within two months | OneFootball

Guido Rodríguez has settled instantly at Valencia, arriving only two months ago and quickly becoming influential on and off the pitch. According to AS, the squad and coaching staff enjoyed an Argentine asado at the Ciudad Deportiva de Paterna today, courtesy of Guido.

It had been years since a gathering like this was organised at Paterna. The asado, an Argentine tradition, is as much about bringing people together as it is about the food.

Alongside Guido, Argentines Saravia and Lucas Beltrán add to the contingent. Beltrán had previously said he did not dare to cook an asado, even with team-mates urging him to do so.

Valencia face nine “finals” to finish as high as possible and push for European qualification next season. The winter arrivals have helped shift the poor run from the first half of the campaign, with Guido central to that upturn.

Since joining, he has acted as Carlos Corberán’s extension on the pitch and earned strong praise within the dressing room. His contract expires in June and the club have shown interest in extending it. Kiat Lim visited the city last week, and Guido’s renewal was one of the main items discussed.
