The Santiago Bernabeu will be bracing itself for an exciting clash as Real Madrid host Celta Vigo in a must-win clash to ensure being in the La Liga title race.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side has been struck with injuries like a plague all season, but this time it seems worse, with Raul Asencio and Lucas Vazquez being the only regularly starting defenders named in the squad.
The Whites can take confidence from the previous encounter between these two sides, where the Merengues battered Celta and qualified for the next round of the Copa Del Rey.
Having said that, here is how Los Blancos can line up against Celta Vigo.
GK – Thibaut Courtois
The Belgian has kept a clean sheet in the last two league fixtures and will have to replicate those performances against an unpredictable Celta Vigo side.
RB – Lucas Vazquez
After an average outing last week, the Spaniard will look to put in a better shift and step up as captain of the side.
CB – Aurelien Tchouameni
His importance has grown immensely in the last few months, with strong defensive displays. The last time these two sides met, the 25-year-old was named the Man of the Match.
CB – Raul Asencio
Following a high-flying start to the season, he has simmered down but has been a mainstay in the squad after an injury crisis. Needs to be at his best in the last five games of the season.
LB – Fran Garcia
His future is still up in the air, but the Spaniard has been miles ahead of Ferland Mendy this season and has worked on his defensive skills, showing improvement. Although he needs to have a better outing as compared to last week’s final.
CM – Dani Ceballos
He has not been able to replicate his performances in the first half of the season since returning from injury, but will have the opportunity to turn it around in the final stretch of the season.
DM – Fede Valverde
The most crucial player in the squad and despite not being at full fitness, has put in the hard yards and pushed through. He’s someone Ancelotti would hope not to lose to another injury.
CM – Jude Bellingham
He has played through the season with a visible shoulder injury but has made sure that it did not hamper his performances. But at times, he is expected to do better. Knows a thing or two about scoring against Celta.
CM – Arda Guler
The young Turk has turned around his position at the club after once being rumored to leave and now is the game-changer in midfield. Has a goal and assist in the last three matches and will look to extend his purple patch towards the end of the season.

ST – Vinicius Junior
He has certainly not done 10x more as he promised this season, having scored just 11 league goals in 27 fixtures. However, he has scored twice against today’s opponents in 195 minutes and would be eager to increase those numbers.
ST – Kylian Mbappe
The Frenchman has been the lynchpin in the Real Madrid attack this season, having scored 34 goals and being the league’s 2nd highest goal-scorer. He will not only look to extend his tally but also look to lead Real Madrid to a 37th La Liga title.
