Gustavo Gómez made history once again by scoring the third goal in Palmeiras’ 3-0 victory over Sport this Monday (25).

The Verdão defender scored his first goal in the 2025 Brasileirão and maintained an incredible consistency.

According to Opta, he has found the back of the net in every one of the eight editions of the championship he has played in since joining the club in 2018.

The defender with the most goals in Palmeiras’ history with 41 goals, Gustavo Gómez has 20 goals in the Brasileirão.

Counting all clubs, the Paraguayan is the eighth highest-scoring “defender-striker” in the championship.

For a defender, this is rare. Gómez shows that he’s not just a safe presence in defense, but also a threat in attack.
