Gustavo Henrique has recovered from a right adductor injury and could boost Santos away to Athletico-PR on Thursday. The third round Brasileirão fixture is scheduled for 19:00 at Arena da Baixada.

According to Diario Do Peixe, the midfielder trained with the squad on Tuesday morning at CT Rei Pelé. The team have a final session on Wednesday before travelling to Paraná, and he is in contention to be included.

He has aged out of the youth set-up and played his final Copinha in January, making five appearances.

Called up to the first team during the tournament, he debuted against Novorizontino in a 2-1 win at Vila in the Paulistão opener. He suffered the injury on 21 January and missed subsequent matches, but now returns as an option while the club search for midfielders.

Santos are without centre-backs João Basso, who has oedema in his right calf, and Adonis Frías, who has a muscle injury in his right calf. Midfielders Zé Rafael, with patellar tendinitis, and Willian Arão, recovering from surgery to remove a kidney stone, are also sidelined.
