Gustavo Henrique voted Corinthians’ best player of first half of 2026 after fans’ poll

According to Meu Timao, Gustavo Henrique has been voted Corinthians’ standout performer for the first half of 2026 in a fans’ poll. The choice reflects a campaign of modest attacking output, 1.11 goals per game, alongside the club’s strongest defensive return of the last five years.
The centre-back earned 76.5% of the vote, ahead of Rodrigo Garro on 14.8%. Matheus Bidu took 2.8%, goalkeeper Hugo Souza 2.0% and Yuri Alberto 0.6%, while the Others option registered 3.3%.
Corinthians have played 37 matches in 2026 and conceded 31 goals, an average of 0.84, their best figure since 2022. With Gustavo Henrique on the pitch, it is 30 games and 25 conceded, a 0.83 average. He started throughout a run of seven straight clean sheets in April.
Henrique has also contributed in attack with six goal involvements, including four goals, placing him third on the club’s scoring chart so far. For comparison, Yuri Alberto has six goals in 29 appearances this year.
Second-placed Garro is rebuilding form under Fernando Diniz after an underwhelming 2025. He has appeared in 15 of the new coach’s 16 matches and leads the team for assists, providing 11 in 33 games this year. Garro has added two goals in 2026, taking him to 13 direct contributions across Corinthians’ 41 goals this season.
