Transfermarkt.de is currently confirmed a Sky Germany report concerning Hamburg’s interest in Heidenheim keeper Kevin Müller. Both sources claim that all parties involved are keen to hammer out an easy low cost deal. Hamburger SV continue to look for a back-up for No. 1 Daniel Heuer Fernandes and have been linked with many different backstops in recent days.
Israeli international Daniel Peretz’s eventual transfer to Southampton (a move that is already working out well for the 25-year-old) initially stalled due to the fact that Hamburg wished to procure another keeper to replace Peretz first. Peretz ultimately forced the early termination of his loan from parent club Bayern Munich via a training strike before his Bundesliga loan club was able to secure their new back-up.
The HSV front office presently navigates a hectic and stressful January transfer window following the surprise resignation of club board-member-for-sport Stefan Kuntz at the beginning of the month. Despite Kuntz’s unexpected departure, sporting director Claus Costa and CFO Dr. Eric Huwer have been able to close some important deals.
When Heidenheim signed Borussia Dortmund keeper Diant Ramaj on loan this summer, FCH CEO Holger Sanwald told the media that Müller would be moving to America’s MLS. This proved not to be the case and Müller, feeling humiliated, launched a war-of-words with his long-time club on social media.
The 34-year-old has been seeking a transfer ever since. Heidenheim head coach Frank Schmidt hasn’t allowed Müller to log a single minute of action, not even in the cup, this season. Ramaj has logged maximum minutes across both competitions.
It appears a solution to the Müller snafu has finally been found.
