Barcelona are set to take Athletic Bilbao on in the La Liga tomorrow night as Hansi Flick’s side look to continue their winning start. Ernesto Valverde’s side will be hoping for their first win of the campaign after a draw in the opening encounter against Getafe.

The Catalan club has been quite active in the transfer market this week more in the case of departures. Ilkay Gundogan has left Barcelona and rejoined Manchester City but the club is yet to register Dani Olmo.

The 26-year-old is Deco & co.’s marquee purchase of the summer. He missed out on the La Liga opener as he had no pre-season behind him but has been training with the team to return in time for the Athletic Bilbao clash. Olmo is currently valued at around €60m.

Hansi Flick, in his pre-match press conference, was asked about Dani Olmo as quoted by SPORT. Here is what he had to say on the registration issues

“It is not my job to talk about registrations.

The German coach however did confirm that he is hoping to have the Barcelona #20 available for selection against the Basque club

I really like his work, he is ready to play. I hope he is ready for tomorrow. He is a fantastic player.”

Nico Williams coming to Barcelona might be hogging all the limelight ahead of the Bilbao clash but the fans will be excited to see their summer signing Dani Olmo in action for the first time. For that though, he needs to be registered.

Until now, there has been no news on registration as Barcelona continue working on departures in the transfer window. Should they manage to register the RB Leipzig man in time for tomorrow’s clash, it’ll be a huge boost to Hansi Flick.
