Dean Huijsen has played down speculation surrounding a potential summer transfer, saying he is ‘really happy’ playing for Bournemouth.
The Spanish centre-back, 20, scored the equaliser as the Cherries came from behind to beat Arsenal on Saturday, heading home Anthoine Semenyo’s long throw. His performances throughout this campaign have earned him transfer links to a variety of top clubs in the Premier League and abroad, including Chelsea and Liverpool.
Speaking after the match, he maintained he was not feeling the pressure of the transfer speculation.
He said: “I think I am pretty relaxed. I'm just a chill guy.
“I don't really think about it too much. I go to training every morning, we have a great group, great staff, and I just enjoy my football and myself.
“At the moment, I am just having fun playing football and it's going well, so I am really happy.”
He continued, saying he believes playing in the Premier League has forced him to improve. He joined from Juventus in the summer and is enjoying the faster pace of the English game.
“In the summer, I had to make a decision,” he said. “I had a few options, and my main reason was I wanted to play and grow as a player and improve.
“I think the rhythm of the Premier League, I have learned a lot from that
“Plus, with the gaffer and the directors, the club is heading in a good direction.
“It's great for me and all the guys. I'm very happy with my decision.
“Everyone always has belief in themself. It has gone fast, and I am pleased with myself.
“I always thought I could do it. I am just really happy and need to keep on working hard and stay humble, and try my best.”
