Harwood-Bellis reveals Roy Keane advice ahead of England bow | OneFootball

Taylor Harwood-Bellis has revealed he has taken ‘a lot of advice’ from Roy Keane ahead of his potential England debut this week.

The Southampton centre-back has been called into the England squad for the first time this month and could feature when the Three Lions take on Greece in the Nations League on Thursday evening.

Harwood-Bellis captained the u-21 side to European Championship success in 2023 under Lee Carsley and the latter has now named the defender in his final senior squad as interim manager.

The 22-year-old is engaged to the daughter of former Manchester United captain Roy Keane and has revealed how he has taken ‘a lot of advice’ from his future father-in-law as his career has progressed.

“It’s something that is good, yes, and I take a lot of advice,” he said at a pre-match press conference.

Asked if he has spoken to Keane specifically ahead of Thursday’s game, he added: “No, everything is focused on Greece at the minute.

“It’s a big game after the result at home. Obviously, we want to go over there and get a result.

“It will be a good atmosphere and a full house. We are looking forward to it and take the challenge on.”
