Alonso has signed a four year contract at Stamford Bridge, and will officially begin work on July 1st with Chelsea facing a critical summer.
The Blues need to add reinforcements in a number of key areas of the squad, as they look to get back into the Champions League next season.

The appointment of Alonso is seen as a real coup, and the players are said to be excited to work under the Spaniard.
In a change from both Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior, Alonso has been given the title of manager rather than head coach, which in theory signifies a greater degree of control.
Quite where that puts Alonso in the sporting hierarchy with the five sporting directors isn’t entirely clear, but Law has stated he won’t be below them.
“He won’t be below the sporting directors,” he told the London Is Blue Podcast.
“He will be on par with them, he would be able to go in there and say, this just isn’t working, whether it has to be someone who goes or we have to scrap this.”
