Manchester United have reportedly reached the finish line first in the race for Arsenal youth product Ayden Heaven.

The Red Devils have been pursuing the 18-year-old for months, as he’s widely considered one of the most promising young talents on English shores. The England U19 starlet initially started his career at West Ham United before joining Arsenal’s academy in 2019 at the tender age of 13.

The famous transfer market insider explains how the Red Devils managed to overcome competition from his current club Arsenal as well as Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt who were also on the player’s trail.

“Ayden Heaven to Manchester United, here we go!” posted Romano on his Twitter account. “Exclusive story from last week confirmed as 18-year-old centre-back’s set to leave Arsenal and join Man Utd.

“Medical booked after he rejected a new deal from Arsenal and Eintracht approaches. Agreement being formally sealed.”

The teenager is originally a central defender, but can also feature at left-back if required. This season, he has made 15 appearances for the Gunners across all competitions, but only one for the senior team, getting a ten-minute cameo in the Carabao Cup fourth-round victory over Preston.

The London native was on the bench on three occasions in the Premier League this term, but never took the field. Nevertheless, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be loathe to lose the services of a player whom he considers ‘very impressive’.
