After joining on loan from Nordsjælland in January and impressing, Borussia Dortmund opted to sign Daniel Svensson (23) on a permanent basis for €6.5m. The Swedish wingback has since started in each of BVB’s five games this season, earning praise from Niko Kovac.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s game against Wolfsburg, Kovac was asked about Svensson, saying: “Daniel is amazing. He’s someone with incredible abilities. A player who doesn’t mind running 13km every third day. Meaning, I’m not worried about him at all.
“He’s a Duracell bunny. He reminds me a bit of Joshua Kimmich. He also plays every game and runs 12 or 13 kilometres. It’s the same distance in a different position, but it shows how tireless these guys are and how they march on without end.”
After joining Dortmund on a permanent basis, Svensson said: “I’ve been very well received here and was able to integrate quickly into the team.”
