Having been quiet in January, Chelsea face a critical summer and are once again expected to be busy in the window with a number of issues in the squad needing to addressed.

As well as appointing a new head coach, the Blues are still thought to be in the market for a centre back, whilst it’s believed they want to add another midfielder and attacker.

Morgan Rogers wouldn’t be a good signing for Chelsea

Chelsea have been heavily criticised for their youth focused recruitment strategy, but it’s been reported they’re prepared to sign players with proven Premier League experience this summer.

Co-owner Behdad Eghbali has said the model will be tweaked, but fans won’t believe that until they see action taken.

Chelsea are thought to be looking for a creative attacker who can play from the left and centrally, with Rogers a player they’ve been linked with.

It’s been reported Villa would want a club record fee for Rogers, but Law thinks the England international would be a “terrible” signing for Chelsea.

“I think Morgan Rogers would be a terrible signing for Chelsea, terrible, he is not the right guy,” he told The London Is Blue Podcast.

“He’s too immature. He’s another player who goes through hot and cold spells. I actually think someone like Anthony Gordon would be a smart signing, because I think he’s been consistent over a number of years.”

Delap joined last summer for £30m, but has managed just two goals in 38 appearances this season, with only one of those in the league.
