Edin Terzic said in a press conference that he spoke with compatriot Jupp Heynckes before signing for Athletic.
Terzic asked Heynckes about his time at San Mamés, where he first arrived in the 1990s and later returned at the start of the century.

He recounted that Heynckes described Athletic as the only club in his career where a handshake carries more weight than a signed contract.
Heynckes led Athletic across four seasons, arriving in 1992 and leaving two years later.
He returned in 2001 and departed again after two campaigns, during which Athletic went back into Europe after more than five years away.
