Morgan Rogers believes that England captain Harry Kane is playing at the highest level of his career so far.
The 32-year-old's form follows a career-best campaign atBayern Munich, in which Kane scored 61 goals in 51 games to win the European Golden Shoe.
Kane's 73 goals for club and country have made this thesecond-most prolific campaign of the 21st century, trailing only Lionel Messi's 83-goal season for Argentina and Barcelona in 2011/12.
England faceNorway in the World Cup quarter-finals tomorrow evening, a contest that will see Kane go head-to-head with Erling Haaland.
Ahead of the game, Rogers was asked to compare the two forwards, regarded as arguably the two best goalscorers in world football right now.
Haaland has scored seven goals at the World Cup, extending his remarkable record for Norway to 62 goals in 54 caps, with the pair competing for the tournament's Golden Boot.
"The Harry Kane-Haaland debate... They're completely different strikers, but they're the two for me at the top of their game," Rogers told apre-match press conference
"They've been two of the best players at this tournament. It's a spectacle for the fans to see who comes out on top, and hopefully it's Harry. I'm sure it will be. We've got that confidence in him.
"He's playing at probably the highest level he's ever played at. Which is madness to say because of what he's been doing for so many years. To say that this is the best is crazy. He's such a good player, such a good leader, and we'll be leaning on him for the game, for sure."
