Hjulmand cleared as Porto complaint over Taça de Portugal incident is archived | OneFootball

Morten Hjulmand has had the complaint from Porto against him archived, after the federation’s Disciplinary Council upheld the on-field decision from a Taça de Portugal tie.

According to O Jogo, Porto alleged the Sporting midfielder kicked Tiago Galetto of Aves SAD during the match on 5 February.

In a ruling by its Non-Professional Section, the council chose to follow referee André Narciso’s team, applying the field of play doctrine and maintaining the assessment made on the pitch.

The decision notes the incident was reviewed in full and found to involve no breach of the Laws of the Game, a stance kept after images were re-examined during the inquiry.

VAR Bruno Esteves also maintained his in-game judgement after rewatching the footage, concluding the incident did not fall into any VAR review category under the protocol.

The council accepted the proposal to archive the case, stating there were no indications of any disciplinary offence by Hjulmand.
