According to BuLi News, Natnael Abraha has signed a long-term contract with TSG Hoffenheim after stepping up to the first team.
The 18-year-old right-back made 12 appearances in 3. Liga last season for Hoffenheim II. He is a former Eintracht Frankfurt youth defender.
He is expected to be involved in Christian Ilzer’s plans this season. Abraha won the German championship at U19 level with Hoffenheim, beating Köln in the final.
Paul Pajduch, sporting director for the licensing team, said Abraha’s progress underlines Hoffenheim’s pathway from academy to the professional squad. He praised the teenager’s performances and grounded character, highlighted his potential and desire to improve, and stressed he remains at the start of his journey.
The Germany U19 international expressed delight at committing his future, describing last summer’s move to Hoffenheim’s U19 as the right step and saying he was supported from day one. He added that he now wants to seize his chance with the first team and dreams of making his Bundesliga debut.
