There was a time not long ago when questions were beginning to surface around Vinicius Jr.
A player who had been on the verge of winning the Ballon d’Or in 2024 suddenly looked out of rhythm, short of confidence, and, perhaps most concerning, uncertain about his future at Real Madrid.
Losing out on the award to Rodri marked the start of a difficult phase. His performances dipped, his game became easier to read, and the spark that once made him unstoppable seemed to fade.
The situation worsened during the managerial transition, as his relationship with Xabi Alonso failed to fully click. For a brief period, the idea of a departure did not feel unrealistic.
Today, however, that uncertainty has all but disappeared, as Vinicius is once again playing with freedom, confidence, and purpose.
The connection with the club has been restored, and it is evident not just on the pitch, but in every interaction with the hierarchy.
What once looked fragile now feels stronger than ever.
According to a report from AS, behind this turnaround lies a key figure, namely, Florentino Perez.
While criticism of the Brazilian grew externally, the belief within the club never went south.
In fact, the president saw Vinicius as a cornerstone of the club’s future and ensuring his revival became a priority.

That internal backing proved crucial, as through consistent support, Vinicius was reminded of his importance.
The arrival of Alvaro Arbeloa played an equally important role, as one of his first moves as head coach was to directly address Vinicius’ situation.
He offered trust, clarity, and, most importantly, continuity. Unlike before, the Brazilian was no longer treated as a player to rotate or substitute frequently. Instead, he became a focal point again.
As a result, the numbers now tell the story of that revival.
In the Champions League, Vinicius has delivered five goals and three assists in his last six matches.
Domestically, after recording five goals and five assists in the first half of the league campaign, he has already surpassed that output in fewer matches during the second half, scoring six goals in just eight appearances.
Overall, he now sits on 17 goals and 12 assists for the season.
More importantly, though, this is and was never about statistics. This is about identity.
Vinicius looks like himself again, the player who can decide games, shift momentum, and carry Real Madrid when the team needs him.
