Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has one game left to break an all-time Blancos record, currently held by Cristiano Ronaldo.
This comes after the Frenchman added to his tally in front of goal for the latest occasion on Wednesday night.
Real Madrid were of course back in action yesterday evening, making the trip to Talavera for a Copa del Rey clash.
When all was said and done in a surprisingly tight affair, Xabi Alonso’s troops emerged on the right side of a 3-2 result.
And top scorer Mbappé proved himself the star of the show, courtesy of a match-winning double.
As much means that the 26-year-old has now found the net 58 times in Real Madrid colours across the calendar year to date.
The current record for goals in a year in Spain’s capital is held by Cristiano Ronaldo, who managed 59 back in 2013.
With one game left to play before the turn of the year, Mbappé therefore requires another brace against Sevilla this weekend to break CR7’s historic benchmark.
