The second Steel City derby of the season takes place later this month
The second installment of the Steel City derby will be taking place next month when Sheffield Wednesday travel to Bramall Lane to face fierce rivals Sheffield united.
It has been a well-documented season of uncertainty and frustration for the Owls, who remain in takeover limbo following the departure of controversial former owner, Dejphon Chansiri, on October 24th, which led to the club being placed into the hands of current administrators, Begbies Traynor.
Since then, Wednesday have been deducted a total of 18 points, and remain on minus seven points as the Championship season progresses through February, meaning Henrik Pedersen's side are on course to hold the unwanted record of the lowest points total in the history of the second tier, which was last amassed by fellow South Yorkshire outfit, Rotherham United - 23 - back in the 2016/17 campaign.
Pedersen's side have won just one league game all season up to now, which came through a 2-0 success over Portsmouth at Fratton Park on September 20th, and have only drew a further eight times.
The last of those draws came against promotion-chasing Hull City on Boxing Day at Hillsborough, which was also the last time where Wednesdayites were able to celebrate the fact their side had found the back of the net.
Indeed, a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Swansea City in South Wales last Sunday saw the Owls fail to score for the 10th consecutive fixture in all competitions, with nine of those coming in league outings.
It has also been well-publicised that the S6 club could match an unwanted EFL record of 11 fixtures without scoring if they fail to find the target in their upcoming fixture against Millwall and against the Blades on February 22nd.
Chris Wilder's men could also relegate Wednesday in the process, in what would sum up a disastrous campaign for Owls supporters, albeit United are also in league action beforehand against Portsmouth on the South Coast.

Despite the current uncertainty off the pitch and a lack of reasons to be cheerful when it comes to current on-pitch performances under Pedersen, that hasn't stopped the Wednesdayites from selling out their allocation when they make the short trip across the Steel City to Bramall Lane next weekend.
As is the norm, Owls supporters have been allocated the entirety of the Bramall Lane Stand's lower tier, and the total of 2,300 tickets were confirmed as sold out by the club on February 11th - 11 days before the cross-city rivalry is renewed for the second time this season.
Wednesday supporters will also hope for a better showing in order to potentially avoid the worst of all relegations for them to stomach, as well as gaining some form of revenge for the 3-0 defeat they suffered against the Blades on November 23rd.
With both sides inside the division's relegation zone at the time, United ran out 3-0 winners at Hillsborough courtesy of a Tyrese Campbell brace and Tom Cannon's curling effort in the first minute of second half stoppage-time.

United, of course, will be hoping to narrow the gap on the top six by defeating Wednesday, in what would be an ambitious late charge for a second play-off finish in a row.
They have also had the Indian sign over the Owls in recent times, with Wednesday last emerging victorious in a Steel City derby on February 26th, 2012, in a League One clash between the two.
Since then, the Blades have avoided defeat in seven meetings, whilst Pedersen and his players will hope to become the first in blue and white to win in S2 since February 2009, which would provide a moment of solace in an otherwise bleak period.
