Bristol City will be owed a portion of the fee from Bournemouth if Antoine Semenyo is sold in January
Bristol City could be set for a major windfall in the upcoming January transfer window due to Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo.
The Robins sold the forward to the Premier League side in the 2023 January market in a deal worth a reported £10.5 million.
The Ghana international was a key part of the Championship side prior to his switch to the Cherries nearly three years ago, having come through the club’s academy system.
Since then, he has established himself as one of the most exciting talents in the Premier League and could now be set for a big money move to a top side in the division.
Here we look at how much Semenyo’s potential winter market move could be worth at Ashton Gate amid the existence of a sell-on clause in their initial deal with Bournemouth.

Bristol City could be in line for a major windfall if Semenyo makes the move away from Bournemouth in the next few weeks.
It has previously been reported that the Robins will be due up to 20 percent of the profit that the Premier League team earns from his sale.
The 25-year-old has a release clause in his contract that will be valid when the market opens in the new year.
It has been claimed that this release clause amounts to £65 million, and it’s understood it will be valid for the first 10 days of the month, meaning any deal will likely occur in the early stages of the winter market.
If Semenyo is sold for this £65 million figure then Bristol City will be owed £11 million from Bournemouth as part of their initial agreement three years ago.
That will represent a bigger fee than the original figure they received from the Premier League side when he was first sold.
The club will be delighted to receive such a hefty sum, which could go a long way towards investing in Gerhard Struber’s first team squad this winter.
The Robins will be aiming to compete for promotion to the Premier League in 2026, having reached the play-offs last season under Liam Manning.

A number of Premier League clubs have been linked with the January signing of Semenyo in recent weeks, increasing the likelihood that a move will come to fruition.
It has most recently been reported by The Athletic that Chelsea have made an enquiry about the forward, but no sooner had they been an interested party in the Ghanaian, it was claimed by David Ornstein that they had decided not to pursue his services any further.
Semenyo also has interest from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United, but it is Manchester City now that are most likely to secure his signature, according to Ornstein, with the attacker's preference to head to the Etihad Stadium in January.
Tottenham Hotspur were keen on the player in the summer as well, but have reportedly moved onto other targets amid concerns he has no interest in the deal.
The 25-year-old has contributed eight goals and three assists from 16 appearances in the Premier League so far this season, with Andoni Iraola’s side sitting 15th in the table.
