The Addicks are closing in on a deal to sign the 22-year-old.
Charlton Athletic have agreed a deal to sign Blackpool star Rob Apter as they continue their preparations for the 2025/26 Championship season.
The Addicks are reportedly finalising a deal for the winger after the Seasiders accepted a bid worth more than £2 million, as per Football Insider.
Charlton are said to have had a number of offers rejected in their pursuit of Apter, but it now appears as though the Blackpool academy graduate is set for a move to South East London.
Nathan Jones brought attacking midfielder Sonny Carey to The Valley on a free transfer from Blackpool earlier this summer, and Apter will be another player who can add creativity to Charlton's squad ahead of their long-awaited return to the second tier.
Charlton have been busy so far during the current transfer window, with Apter set to become the Addicks' seventh signing of the summer.
Defender Amari'i Bell and midfielder Sonny Carey have moved to SE7 on free transfers after leaving Luton Town and Blackpool respectively, while the rest of Charlton's new players have been brought in for transfer fees.
Goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski joined the Addicks from Luton Town for a fee in the region of £1 million, before striker Isaac 'Tanto' Olaofe signed for the club from Stockport County in a deal reportedly worth £1.5 million.
Centre-back Reece Burke reunited with Nathan Jones after leaving Luton for an undisclosed fee, and Joe Rankin-Costello completed a switch to The Valley from Blackburn Rovers for around £750,000.
Therefore, with Apter poised to join the club for more than £2 million, Charlton are set to take their summer spending total past the £5 million mark, which shows that they have real ambitions of establishing themselves at Championship level next season.
Apter was a standout player in League One last season, with his dribbling ability and end product making him a key part of the Blackpool side that climbed the table following the appointment of Steve Bruce in September.
Charlton supporters saw what the 22-year-old is capable of on the counter-attack during the Seasiders' 2-1 victory at The Valley last term, and his ability to pose a threat single-handedly in one-versus-one situations could be key for the Addicks, especially in Championship games when they are under the cosh and need to get up the pitch.
His arrival could soften the blow of losing Thierry Small to Preston North End earlier this summer, and Jones will no doubt hope that he can provide a similar threat on the right-hand side with more output in the final third.
Apter was Blackpool's joint-second top goalscorer in League One during the 2024/25 campaign, alongside Carey, and it was clear that Bruce did not want to lose him this summer, as per his recent interview with the Blackpool Gazette.
"We've had conversations with Charlton," Bruce said.
"We don't want to sell Rob, but we all know in football that everyone has their price.
"He's a dying breed. He's one of those that can go past people and make something happen. None of us want him to go, but it's football."
