FC Bayern go into the second leg against Atalanta Bergamo in a comfortable position, but coach Vincent Kompany still has a few personnel issues to resolve. This is the Munich team’s likely line-up
After their convincing 6-1 win in the first leg, FC Bayern face a seemingly straightforward task in the Champions League round of 16 second leg against Atalanta Bergamo. On Wednesday evening (21:00), the Munich side will be looking to seal their place in the quarter-finals at the Allianz Arena
Despite the clear lead from the first leg, there are a few unanswered questions ahead of the game – particularly in the goalkeeping position. Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich are still out injured, while Jonas Urbig will be fit at short notice following his concussion. Should the 21-year-old not be fit in time, 16-year-old Leonard Prescott could even make his professional debut
In defence, Vincent Kompany is likely to deploy a back four of Josip Stanisic, Jonathan Tah, Minjae Kim and Tom Bischof, with Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito unavailable due to injury
Dayot Upamecano and Konrad Laimer are yellow cards, and a further caution would see them miss a possible quarter-final first leg at Real Madrid
Leon Goretzka and Aleksandar Pavlovic could start in central midfield, with Joshua Kimmich missing due to a yellow card suspension
Offensively, there is much to be said for a front three of Lennart Karl, Serge Gnabry and Luis Diaz behind Harry Kane. Michael Olise, like Kimmich, is suspended with a yellow card, while Jamal Musiala could at least be an option for the squad after his injury
Coach Vincent Kompany has several alternatives at his disposal despite the absentees and is likely to rely on a balanced mix of stability and rotation

FC Bayern: Urbig – Stanisic, Tah, M.-J. Kim, Bischof – Goretzka, Pavlovic – Karl, Gnabry, Diaz – Kane
Atalanta Bergamo: Carnesecchi – Kossounou, Hien, Kolasinac – Zappacosta, de Roon, Ederson, Bernasconi – de Ketelaere, Krstovic, Sulemana
FC Bayern are missing Davies (hamstring strain), Ito (torn muscle fibre), Kimmich (yellow suspension), Neuer (torn calf muscle fibre), Olise (yellow suspension) and Ulreich (torn muscle bundle), among others. Several young players are also unavailable.
