FLW takes a look at how much Morgan Whittaker earns per week at Middlesbrough, with the truth behind his potential exit now coming to light.
Reports in Turkey claimed Trabzonspor had shown strong interest in tempting the 25-year-old away from Teesside this summer, who scored 14 goals and managed seven assists in the Championship this past season.
Having completed a reported £5m move to Boro from Plymouth Argyle in January 2025, the Derby-born forward is one of the most dangerous attackers outside the Premier League.

The Northern Echo reports there has been no formal bid from Trabzonspor, and any interest is far from advanced.
Middlesbrough’s valuation would apparently make any deal difficult, with the asking price believed to be well above Trabzonspor’s club‑record spend of around £7.5m.
Whittaker committed to a four-and-a-half-year contract at the Riverside when he completed his aforementioned move from Argyle, tying him to the club until June 2029.
When he signed that deal, he made his excitement clear, telling BBC Radio Tees, "I'm very clear what I want and what I need next for my career and a team like Middlesbrough is perfect for me."
Eighteen months later, that comment still holds weight - as there’s nothing to indicate that talk of a Turkish switch is anything beyond brief speculation.
Transfer speculation surrounding players of Whittaker's quality is inevitable, and it is always worth taking reports that originate from Turkish media with a degree of caution until they are substantiated by more direct sources.

According to estimates from Capology, Morgan Whittaker earns in the region of £25k per week at Middlesbrough, which equates to approximately £1.3m per year.
Those figures represent a huge step up from his time at Argyle, where he earned an estimated £7.5k per week.
To put Whittaker's estimated salary into context within Trabzonspor's own squad structure, the Capology data from this past season lists Stefan Savic as the Turkish club's highest earner, at just over £66,000 per week.
So, Whittaker, at £25k per week, wouldn't be at the very top of Trabzonspor's reported payroll. He would sit at about tenth, below former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Okay Yokuslu, who earns an estimated salary of just over £28k per week.
Despite the wingers' wages being far lower than what Savic commands, the apparent transfer fee demanded by Boro alone would be new territory for the Turkish club in the transfer market.
It remains unclear how highly the Championship club value Whittaker, but The Telegraphfar too low.
You can imagine that Steve Gibson would want a lot more than £10m each as well.
