County have used the financial and analytical powers of their owners to climb the English football pyramid.

Notts County have their sights firmly set on mirroring the achievements of their former National League rivals Wrexham who have jumped up the leagues as quickly as possible.

After a year of doing battle in the non-leagues, both sides made it up to League Two, but County couldn't keep up with the Welsh side, who secured back-to-back promotions.

Notts' biggest struggle was keeping the ball out of their own net, while Wrexham relentlessly put it in the opposition's.

The reason for these two teams' rise up the English footballing pyramid is quite similar: strong backing by ambitious owners.

Of course, when it comes to the monetary side of the game, almost no team can compete with Wrexham, but that's not to say that County aren't resource-rich themselves thanks to their owners: Alexander and Christoffer Reedtz.

After the club's last relegation from the football league in 2019, the Danish brothers completed a takeover of the club. During their time in the National League, with their new owners, they were always a play-off side. But, even when they posted 107 points and a +75 goal difference in the 2022/23 campaign, they couldn't quite reach that automatic promotion spot.

They admitted to wanting a quick return to League Two when they took over, but they would end up having to wait a few years before they could achieve this goal.

Finally, by winning the play-offs in that season, thanks to plenty of drama-filled moments, the Reedtz's were able to get the club back to the football league.

Not long after their promotion to League Two, it was rumoured that American pop star Taylor Swift wanted to buy the club - something which the Danes denied pretty swiftly. The club has remained in their hands.

How Notts County's owners made their millions

Along the way on this journey with County, the brothers have implemented a strong identity for how the team is going to be run, picking out coaches based on their style of play and by leaning a lot on analytics.

This should come as no surprise as they are the directors of a football analysis company called Football Radar. On the company's website, they state that they specialise in: " rating players and predicting the outcomes of matches and competitions."

They also provide advice to football clubs and on betting, claiming to be: "a leading provider of betting advice, where we have helped our clients achieve outstanding returns for over 10 years."

This company is what earned Alexander and Christoffer their millions. Company Check puts Football Radar's net worth at £10 million.

This wealth not only allowed them to get involved with Notts, but they have a stake in another club that's a bit closer to home. In 2021, the Reedtz brothers were part of an investment group that acquired a majority share of Danish Superliga side Viborg FF, as per Nottinghamshire Live.

The club reached as high as third in the Danish Superliga in the same season in which County won promotion to the EFL, further proving the brothers' ability to have a positive impact on football teams, in part because of their football analytics background.
