According to Sacha Tavolieri, the Belgian club are interested in the midfielder as we approach the final days of the winter market.

The 22-year-old has come through the ranks of the Championship side’s academy system, and has been a regular presence in the team under Chris Wilder, who succeeded Ruben Selles back in September following a nightmare start to the season.

Brooks has made 24 appearances in the league so far this season, starting on 15 occasions, contributing two goals and two assists.

The Sheffield United player has a contract with the club until the summer of 2027 amid fresh interest from Brugge in the final stages of the winter transfer widow.

Sheffield United are keen to ensure Brooks remains at Bramall Lane beyond the 2 February deadline.

It’s been reported that Club Brugge are looking to bolster their midfield options, and they have turned their attention to the 22-year-old.

The Belgian club have made an approach to the Yorkshire outfit regarding a deal for the player, but no agreement has been reached on a transfer.

However, the Championship team wants to keep Brooks, even with discussions ongoing between the two sides.

Brooks has proven himself as a useful player so far this season, featuring in all but four of their league fixtures so far, with the club’s sights set on earning another play-off place.

The midfielder has made a total of 67 league appearances for the Blades in his senior career, including playing 20 times in the Premier League.

This campaign has already become his most present in the first team squad with his 24 appearances so far.

Sheffield United are currently 17th in the Championship table, nine points adrift of sixth place Wrexham but with a game in hand on some of their top six rivals.

Next up for Wilder’s side is a trip to face Millwall on Saturday in a 3pm kick-off.

Andre Brooks is a very useful player for Sheffield United

Midfield has been an issue for Sheffield United this season because of injury issues to the likes of Ollie Arblaster and Sydie Peck.

But Brooks has proven himself as a useful part of the squad, and it should take a lot to convince the Blades to cash in on him now.

Given Brugge are reportedly interested in him as a backup, remaining at Bramall Lane may be his preferred option, as he can fight for his place under Wilder.
