Arsenal bid to end their six-year wait for a trophy this afternoon as they face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.
Despite building what is widely regarded as one of Europe’s best teams in his seven-year tenure with the Gunners, Mikel Arteta has only lifted one trophy as the club’s manager.
It has been six years since the last, when the Spaniard pipped Frank Lampard’s Chelsea in the 2020 FA Cup final, and he must now face his greatest managerial rival as he looks to break the duck.
Pep Guardiola is the most decorated coach in the history of the League Cup, having been in the dugout for four of City’s eight triumphs.
To win today would take City within one of Liverpool’s record ten League Cup titles.
