Aston Villa will be looking to seal their spot in the Champions League quarter-finals when they host Club Brugge tonight.
The club continued their fairytale run at the top level of European football for the first time since 1982/83 with a dramatic late show in Belgium last week, when an own goal from Brandon Mechele and Marco Asensio’s finish secured a commanding 3-1 win in their last-16 first-leg tie after Leon Bailey’s opener had been quickly cancelled out by Maxim de Cuyper.
Villa will be strong favourites to finish the job on home soil this evening, having made it three victories in a row across all competitions in the Premier League on Saturday when Ollie Watkins returned to haunt former club Brentford to lift Unai Emery’s side up to eighth place and four points adrift of the top four.
Club Brugge, meanwhile, got some confidence back with a comfortable win over local rivals Cercle Brugge in the Belgian Pro League, though they still trail leaders Genk by nine points and now have it all to do if they are to keep their European campaign alive having knocked out Atalanta in the play-offs.
TV channel: Aston Villa vs Club Brugge is being shown live in the UK on TNT Sports 1. Coverage begins at 7pm GMT ahead of an 8pm kick-off at Villa Park.
Live stream: TNT Sports subscribers can also tune in live online to watch the match via the Discovery+ website and app.
