Chelsea kick off their FIFA Club World Cup campaign against Los Angeles FC this evening.
Enzo Maresca’s side head into the competition with confidence after securing a top-four finish in the Premier League and Europa Conference League success. That latter triumph meant Chelsea have become the first team to win all three current UEFA club competitions.
Chelsea are now targeting a second Club World Cup crown. The Blues first won the trophy in 2021, after lifting the Champions League the previous season.
That victory booked Chelsea’s spot at this summer’s tournament, with FIFA expanding the Club World Cup to a 32-team competition.

There could be debuts for several new signings, including Liam Delap. Chelsea beat off strong competition to land Delap in a £30m deal from Ipswich Town.
Los Angeles FC took an unorthodox route to the tournament. The MLS outfit beat Club America in a play-off last month, following Leon’s disqualification.
The latter were removed due to violating the rules on multi-club ownership, as León and Pachuca have the same owner.
LAFC include former Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud and ex-Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris in their squad.
For fans in the United Kingdom, the fixture is free-to-air on 5 (formerly known as Channel 5). Coverage starts at 7pm (BST) ahead of an 8pm kick-off at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
DAZN also has exclusive broadcast rights to the tournament, and will live stream all 63 games free-to-air on its service.
