Liam Rosenior will fancy his chances of extending his winning run to three matches this afternoon as Chelsea visit crisis-stricken Crystal Palace.

The visit to Selhurst Park, where a tumultuous fortnight has left Crystal Palace reeling, will mark the fourth London derby of Rosenior’s brief Chelsea tenure.

The back pages have delivered gut-punch after gut-punch for the Eagles faithful in recent weeks. Club captain Marc Guehi departed the club for just £20million, with FA Cup-winning manager Oliver Glasner announcing his intention to leave the club in the very same press conference.

Striker Jean-Philippe Mateta has also been looking to engineer a move away from Selhurst Park, with Juventus said to be among the clubs interested in his services.

There is some good news for Palace, though, as Ismaila Sarr has returned from AFCON and will likely get the nod up top in place of Mateta.

The cards have all fallen in Chelsea’s favour, then, though it remains to be seen whether they can take advantage of the situation after labouring to a narrow defeat of Cypriot side Pafos in the Champiosn League on Wednesday.
