Recent form

Czechia thrashed Gibraltar 6-0 in their last outing, and beat San Marino 1-0 prior to that. However, they also lost to the Faroe Islands during the October international break, though did battle to a hard-earned draw against Croatia too.

Ireland have been in fantastic form, winning their last three games against Hungary, which booked their place in the World Cup qualification play-offs, Portugal, and also Armenia.

What’s been said?

Ireland captain Seamus Coleman: “After the last two games [against Portugal and Hungary], seeing what it did to our country, it was incredible.

“Even speaking about it now, it was incredible what it did to our country, how it lifted our country, how it lifted our people, how it made people happier and gave them something to get up in the morning and talk about. That is so important.

“As much as us players want to do it for ourselves and for the manager and all the people behind the scenes, we do want to do it for the people of our country as well.”

Coach John O’Shea: “They have a good physical presence about them so there is nothing that surprises you.

“It will be a good test for our boys and we will have to perform to a level we have been able to reach in the last camp and cause them problems.”
